Overtime
Right now, I have two dogs with a cone on their head. I have been spending extra time driving between Boise and Nampa for the past month. Last month, Frank had to go in for his glands. They were not waiting until I closed on the house. The only vet that could help Frank late at night was All Valley. They could not do much and Frank had to go in again because of it. I had to call and call trying to find people to do it. A majority of vets want between $1,000 to $1,200 to remove anal glands. About a week ago, I took Frank to the vet on Overland to have his glands removed. This vet refers to himself as the "Butt Man" and charges half of what everyone else does. By the time this happened, I was sick from running back and forth and not sleeping. I called in sick to take care of the dog and myself. Yesterday, I wanted to get Oreo her long awaited hair cut. I guess that couldn't wait through all of this garbage. Been running around taking care of the house, Frank, and me. I wanted to start all over again on her hair. After a couple of hours, I had her back. She was not following along with me like she normally does and shaking her head. I noticed blood on her ears and throat. I take her back and the groomer had me speak to the vet. After two more hours, I was signing documents to have Oreo's ears drained. Her ears were really matted before her hair cut. Now that she didn't have all that hair, she shook until blood vessels broke in her ears. Wonderful. So, $450 and 24 hours later, I have Oreo. Her head is wrapped like a mummy and huge cone around her head. In the long run, I still ended up paying $1,000 worth of vet bills. Bleh. Luckily, it as just in time for me to close on the house. Busy month ahead. I have to take her in again on Wednesday. Then again two more times to remove stitches. I have to take Frank back to Boise to remove his stitches. Then the following day, I have some people coming to install windows, a fan in the bathroom, and to put some insulation in the attic.
